Rayne at Hotelswithall

Rayne, Louisiana, romantic hotels use romance and fantasy to create memorable experiences for guests. Often located in spectacular settings, they feature luxurious lobbies, gracious guest rooms, grand ballrooms, elegant bars, and sumptuous dining rooms. People seek them out because they offer unique and memorable experiences.

Rayne, Louisiana, romantic hotels evoke images associated with the classic qualities of romance: heroism, adventure, and mystery – for the anticipation of finding love, sealing a lucrative business deal, or attending a grand social event or a great conference. Hotel spaces are designed in scale and character for both grand and intimate gatherings, conversation and celebration. Guests like to feel that they have traveled to a faraway or more exotic, rustic, or elegant place than they really have.

Romance is often associated with nature, particularly light and water in their various manifestations, including sunrise and sunset, candlelight, firelight and moonlight, the ocean, forests and meadows. A meadow can be evoked through soft textures and materials that facilitate serenity and airiness, such as a grassy courtyard. The right type of carpet, particularly one with a curved edge, can be used in a romantic hotel lobby to create the soft feel of a meadow.

A Rayne, Louisiana, romantic hotel can use a lighted pond or fountain to create a water feature in a courtyard or lobby. At one romantic hotel, a grotto-like fountain splashes under the grand stair that takes guests up from the street-level lobby. Moving light from under the water in in the fountain pool plays on the walls and the lobby's vaulted ceiling. Water also can be evoked through materials with sheen or reflectivity, such as polished stone, metal, or mirrors.

Resolved Question: Should I accept the internship or not?

Here's the deal. I'm a 25 y/o female, and I had to move back in with my parents. I'm currently out of work, so I have no money. I've been offered a paid internship that's out of state (home state Louisiana, internship in Wyoming). It's in a field that I really want to work in and with an agency that I really want to work for. The internship will last for a year. I have housing, food, and transportation accounted for. My problem is that I had to ask my dad for the money for gas, hotel, and some emergency money for the drive up to Wyoming. It's a day and 5 hrs according to google, so more like 2 days. My dad says money is not a problem, but he thinks it's a bad idea. He says that there is no reason I should move to Wyoming for a job that is only a year, when I could just live at home and get a job here. I told him the I applied for numerous positions here and no one has gotten back to be or the job has already been filled. Wyoming is the one of the only places that has gotten back to me. He says some other reasons are that if something should happen while I'm up there (like my truck having to go into a shop), he can't come to Wyoming. I say that if I have problems (other than me dying), I can take care of them. He says I won't know anyone there. I say that I can make friends. He says he doesn't think my truck can make it up there. I say I'll get it checked out and tuned up (my truck is not that old, only 7 yrs). Essentially he has taken the decision away from me since he holds the money. So I think it's over and I'm going to decline the job. Then he tells my sister that I have a job opportunity "up north", and she asks me all about it. I asked my dad about it and he says "You're an adult. I can't make your decisions for you". But I know as soon as I tell him I've accepted the job, he's going to go ballistic, ranting and raving about it being a stupid idea. What would should I do? Sorry this was so long.. =) I already talked to the agency about relocation costs. They can't cover it.

Resolved Question: How much money do you think I would need?

Me and my cousin are going on a roadtrip in a year or so and we are going to California (from Louisiana). It's a 33 hour drive, because we're passing through Oklahoma and Utah and Nevada and all that so we can visit landmarks. We are planning to stay in Cali for about 2 weeks. The first week in the San Fran - Sacramento area and the next by Los Angeles and all the good stuff. We are going to Disneyland and Universal as well. On the way back we are leaving a different way, and going through Vegas, spending a night there, then going to the grand canyon and then leaving. A lot of things we are doing are just sightseeing, but there's also the things like amusement parks, tours, and the hotel cost. I'm 15 and my cousin is 20 and turning 21 in October so we will be able to stay in the hotels and all. But after a year of saving I will have around $1,000. How much do you think I will need, and whats some good ways for me to make some extra money I can spend on souvenirs and just shopping?? Thank you veeeeeery much!

Resolved Question: Should we ski Keystone or Vail?

My fiance and two other couples are going skiing this Thanksgiving week in Colorado, all of us are beginner or first-time skiiers (from South Louisiana, no less lol) - Which would be more suited for our group, Keystone or Vail? I hear Vail is pricier, but more beautiful, Keystone has the night skiing (which I want to do, the others just don't understand how great that is!), any suggestions? Also what are some mid-priced resorts/hotels/cabins in Keystone that would be ski-in ski-out so we wouldn't have to take a shuttle or drive to go ski each morning? Any other tips or suggestions that might enhance our trip are welcome, it's been 20 years since I've skiid (as a teenager), thanks! :-) Pros and cons of each would be helpful- thanks!!

Resolved Question: Is moving near my dysfunctional family wise?

I am from Louisiana but I have lived in San Diego for the past five years - almost six years. The reason I moved so far away the first time is because my parents are divorced and they both choose stupid, crazy people to marry. Both of my step-parents like hate my sister and I. My dad's new wife has a daughter already and straight up told my Dad that it was her or us so he choose her of course and has been distant and out of our life ever since then. He gives us money for like groceries and stuff but doesn't want us at his house or near his new family. He even build a new house without enough bedrooms for us just to keep us away. Like when I graduated this may with my associates he didn't even want to come and hasn't come to see me once since I moved here and when I would go back to see him he would have me stay in a hotel and see me in between time with his new family. He doesn't even call me unless he is away from her. I mean I know my Dad loves me but right now I feel like he is just focusing on his new family and could care less about me and my sister. When my sister had like no where to live he still wouldn't let her stay with him because his wife said no. My dad is always comparing me to his step-daughter. She was 13 when my Dad married my step-mom and he did all the stuff he would never do with us with her. He went to all of her sports games. He went with her to cotillion to the father-daughter dance. He got her a dog which he would never do for us. He built a whole new house for them so she would be in the school district that she wanted to go to. She got into a private university that, of course, he is paying for but won't help me at all with my tuition and always goes visits her at school which is in Texas. In their house there is no, and I mean NO pictures of my sister and I but a million of my step-sister. I feel so inferior around them. I mean what is wrong with me that they don't love me too or my sister? I feel like we are some kind of poison to them and if they get to close to us that they feel they will get infected. My mom is a different story. She is mentally ill so she has really bad mood swings and you never know what mood you will catch her in or how she will react or when she will just flip out on you. I don't blame her because she can't help it but she has just made my sister and I's life horrible. Like my whole childhood is just filled with bad memories of her. She never calls or anything. She will go like 5 or 6 months without contact and when she does call you its like nothing happened and she can't understand why things are so estranged between us. She tells me she was always there. She is complete denial about everything. ITs really hard to talk to her because she never listens and just tells me I have no idea what I am talking about and she is the best mother around. When I try to explain to them how I feel they are tell me I am ungrateful and that I should be happy that I at least have a conversation about how things are they just freak out and tell me nothing is wrong and that I should be grateful for family. But I feel like I don't have a family. I feel like I am on my own here and I have been on my own. My sister joined the Navy so she is safe and taken care of now but I am transferring to a four year university to finish my degree and the only school that accepted me was a school in Louisiana. Its in the same stupid town where they live. My mom is excited that I might be moving back but I know its only temporary and that she will have a mood swing and just flip out. I could stay in cali but I cannot find a job and there is no school for me to attend there right now and I just want to finish my with B.A. degree so I can get a better job and hopefully join the Peace Corps which is like my dream for as long as I can remember and my Dad always tells me I will never get in and that I should just forget about everything. I know if I move to Louisiana for school I will do well in school in but I am afraid that my parents will mess things up for me because my Dad does not want me to move there. He has sent me all kinds of text telling me that his life would be better if I just stay in California. I feel depressed just thinking about it. I want to know if you guys think it is possible to move to Louisiana and not have my family ruin my life and how to not let this bother me or if I should just stay away? I just don't even know what to do right now but I have to make a decision soon because school starts next month.

Resolved Question: Is BP's innovative employment solution plan the wave of the future?

During the Great Depression the jobless lived in tents, automobiles, hobo jungles and camps all over the US. But on the Gulf BP has a housing solution that just might prove useful for the next one: http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20100721/bs_yblog_upshot/oil-cleanup-workers-protest-flotel-housing "One of the logistical difficulties in combating the Gulf oil disaster has been finding housing for the thousands of workers brought in by BP and its contractors to work on cleanup and containment operations. Many of the coastal communities, especially in oil-soaked Louisiana, are sparsely populated and don't have the ability to accommodate a sudden influx of people. Enter "flotels." "Many workers have been housed in floating hotel/motels — structures similar to trailers or shipping containers stacked on top of each other on a barge." Those pics would almost pass for old timey Mississippi riverboats. All it needs is cotton bales on the decks and negroes singing on the decks to add romance. Throw in a few gamblers and there's the makings for a great movie. But some workers aren't happy with it all: "I'm not living on no quarterboat," Dag said. "When I signed up, the agreement was we lived at a motel or somewhere they supplied us to live." Dag said that some workers have no choice but to accept lodging at a flotel because they've yet to be paid and have depleted whatever savings they had as a result. "We ain't been paid yet," Dag said. "We've used almost everything we got to live out here already. Forty days, we ain't seen nothing yet. What we supposed to do for money?" With ten million US citizens out of work losing their homes and empty shipping containers left over from Chinese products stacking up all over the US this might just provide a partial solution. Isn't BP great, cleaning up the Gulf of Mexico and finding ways to provide for the people they put out of work? Dave Bartley: Novel set of assertions you've offered up. I don't listen to talk radio so I hadn't had it explained to me that way. Thanks for the reply.

Resolved Question: Does the "Certificate of Government Exemption from the Payment of Hotel Lodging Taxes" apply to parish taxes?

I work at a hotel in Louisiana. We have 3 taxes that apply to all rooms: 1) State, 2) Parish, and 3) Hotel / Motel. Our employer wants us to make sure we "only" exempt the guest from the taxes mentioned on the form. I usually only exempt from State taxes for this form because the beginning of the form states: "...for use by employees...in documenting eligibility for exemption from payment of state sales taxes on hotel lodging charges..." However, I am a bit confused about the very last statement on the form which states: "This form is not valid to document exemption from the payment of local room occupancy taxes." Does this mean it does not exempt them from Parish taxes or City taxes (we do not have city taxes but if I'm not mistaken I think some areas do), or both? The most recent guest that presented the form said it is suppose to apply to State and Parish but not the Hotel / Motel (we never exempt from the Hotel / Motel tax because it is more of a fee then a tax) So I'm not sure which is correct. I did not apply the parish tax since he said this, but I want to be sure before he checks out. I also do not want to get into trouble with my employer. For reference, this form can be found here >> http://www.lsus.edu/acctserv/documents/hoteltaxexempt.pdf Thanks for your help.

Resolved Question: Airplane ticket prices fluctuating?

Me and my friend wanna go to Louisiana in January about a week and half after the holiday festivities. We live in Northern California so we can leave out of the Medford, OR, San Francisco, CA, or Sacramento, CA. We have friends to stay with so no worries on hotels. We are wondering if the airline prices fluctuate enough between now and then enough to wait to buy the tickets, or if we should just buy them now. THX!
